The Great Game

Occult orders abound, and not a few make daily efforts to essentially rule the world. Do not doubt it. It is in the nature of the powerful to seek greater power, and in the nature of the wealthy to be driven by greed. No absolute is ever truly absolute, of course, but a rule will tend to have validity most of the time... This is precisely why such things are known as "rules" in the first place.

Conspiracy theorists are fond of looking for the signs and indicators of the great occult orders at work, always seeking to ferret out how and why and by what mechanisms the master manipulators control the masses. It has become very popular in recent years to identify secret messages or else psychological tricks at work in the mass media. While the Vicar sees these things, too, he is also a member of an occult order of a very different purpose and composition, and our training teaches us that overt means are rarely the most effective.

Those who parse, dissect and otherwise carefully examine the darker aspects of control - MKUltra, Psychic Disintegration, COINTELPRO, MKOFTEN, predictive programming and a host of other programs and techniques - often insist upon the validity of their examples. This is perhaps to be expected, and it may even be a function of these researchers having found data that is convincing.

There's just one problem with all of this: Mind control programming doesn't work in the absence of extreme conditions.

"Monarch" Mind Control is one excellent example. There are many bloggers and authors out there who would assert that this technique or program is utilized regularly on individuals within the entertainment industry. Evidence for the existence of this precise program is non-existent, of course, beyond the assertions of a few authors and lecturers and their willing "witnesses" who claim to be survivors of brutal rituals. But this absence of valid evidence does not matter - the conspiracist lives in a world where zero evidence is simply proof of concept.

If it strikes some readers as odd that the Vicar - a wizard, of all things - would assert that evidence is necessary for an investment of belief, it should be pointed out that the practice of magic and a good grounding in esoteric or occult knowledge are both grounded firmly in reason and fact. The derision with which modern science greets these things is a result of intent on the part of practitioners. We don't want the scientists to agree with us, because that would bring far too much of what we do into the public discourse and into the universities. It profits a wizard not at all for there to be courses in applied magic. This attitude among genuine occultists is the very basis of the Vicar's argument against so much of what is claimed by "New World Order" conspiracy theorists - namely that "Illuminati" symbolism is intentionally injected into the mainstream in order to manipulate the masses.

In short, that is not how these techniques work, and it is definitely not how occult workers practice. Occult means "hidden". That's the point.

The practice of mind control under any moniker is thought to be used by "Illuminati" puppets and operators to insert symbols and messages into the common discourse via the media. It is also claimed by some to be utilized to dominate certain entertainers in order to push an "Illuminati" message of cultural domination. But if this is true, then it remains to be demonstrated how exactly telling us what and how the "Illuminati" are up to is of any benefit to the Occult Elite themselves. What's more critical is the fact that in order to deconstruct someone's conscious mind and reprogram the unconscious, conditions must exist that deprive the individual of comfort and psychic security. This means holding someone against her or his will for an extended period of time, subjecting them to needs-based and sensory-based deprivation, and regularly assaulting them.

Entertainers are significant properties in the Western civilized economy, and they are responsible for employing a lot of people depending upon their relative level of success. The big acts are also carefully and comprehensively backed by insurers, lawyers, managers and agents. They also have friends and family, since beneath the glitz and the glamour is just another person who is as governed by the call of nature and the other essential needs as any of the rest of us. Long absences, curious psychological changes and significant behavioral oddities would be noticed. Also, we can expect that no system is 100% effective, so where are the famous survivors of this extensive and brutal programming regimen that the conspiracists insist is in effect?

Art is best when it shocks and challenges us... Or so my artist clients tell me. That's at least what they teach in art school.

Famous people do occasionally behave oddly. But it is a good application of Okham's Razor to note that there are a number of reasons for weird behavior above and beyond the conspiracist's go to explanation of "Sex Kitten Programming". There are real forces far more dreadful and dangerous, and many of these are embedded in the very culture of fame. It is possible that Britney shaved her head because she became tired of living in a fishbowl, with appearance and the most recent single as the sole measures of her personal value. Fame and fortune are degrading, and very often they are the most caustic things to which any person can be exposed.

Is it possible that this bald young woman is not a plaything of the Illuminati, but is instead trying to say "F-you" to the entertainment industry?

Athena's Men are not widely attested and accounted, but under the elder nomenclature of the Knights of the Helm we can be readily discovered.  Philosophers, doctors, soldiers, lawyers and statesmen - among other things - we have a tendency also to be mystics all; it is in fact a prerequisite for enrollment. Mystics recognize the types of techniques described by the researchers who fan the flames of conspiracy paranoia. But we also understand these techniques at a deeper level, and know perfectly well that these methods depend upon the Secret Language.

The Secret Language is the compendium of metaphorical images and concepts that suggest multiple meanings by presenting a single word, symbol or statement. The only real issue to take with the narrative proposed by conspiracy theorists is that the symbols to which they point don't actually mean only one thing, or convey only dark ideals. Symbols like the "one-eye" the "monarch butterfly" and the pyramid can mean many things, and in fact they do. Often, the contextual rules for reading the Secret Language are the hardest part of mastery. It is in this area that the conspiracists always seem to error, which comes as no surprise since they often are evidently ignorant of the deeper occult secrets, or else they are servants of the Illuminati intentionally misleading the populace.

The unbounded eye of providence is a symbol for liberation... When artists show you the one eye sign, how do you know that they don't mean this eye?

Imagery in modeling and film depicting individuals with one eye covered is not an automatic demonstration of Illuminati connection. It is in fact a part of visual arts and composition, studied by most artists in the modern era. The idea is to convey mystery, a personal hidden agenda, and perhaps not a little sexiness. A singer appearing on an album cover with her hair covering one eye is not telling you that we are secretly ruled by the Illuminati - that is information you can glean far more readily by monitoring the stock market or the progress of foreign wars. Adam Smith's subtle reference to the "invisible hand" responsible for regulating markets is a far better example of the same, for Smith was very much in the know. He was perfectly aware that natural processes in human social psychology would impose a certain governing aspect, and that this must include concealed actors wielding power from behind the scenes. The invisible hand is a Secret Language metaphor in this application, because it has a context. The use of a pyramidal design on a monetary seal is the same: there is a contextual reference point tying the pyramid's secondary meanings to the value of the currency and the nation-state of origin. On the other hand, a picture of a pyramid on a magazine cover is just as likely to be nothing more than a pyramid - especially if the magazine is a publication about archaeology in Egypt or Mexico.

This does not render all of the conspiracist's efforts in vain, but it is suggestive that they quite often miss the point completely. The use of symbols and metaphors to manipulate the masses and move polities this way or that is known among the Occult Elite as "the Great Game" or sometimes, "the Greatest Game". It is a window into their minds, since it reveals that their machinations and manipulations - frequently resulting in wars, economic destabilizations and disasters like famine or plague - have their cost in human lives. To such people as those truly in power, the deaths of millions is a way of keeping score, and nothing else. This is the hard truth.

Harder still is the reality that they are not required to utilize any major overarching means of manipulation of populations at all through media. Instead, they set generalized conditions and orchestrate social and political systems to regulate the body politic. We are talking of course of entertainment, communications, government, religion, police and educational institutions, among other things. It is not necessary to search for detailed examples of entertainment media "messages" or the application of symbols - in fact such a search will lead one off into the weeds, precisely as the manipulators intend. Domination is not accomplished purely by individual interactions or broad-brush programming. It is instead instituted by generating themes and letting these run riot among the commons. The television shows and music videos are not designed to do anything other than draw attention to advertising for products and services, and these in turn are intended to be somewhat ignored by the conscious mind. We notice what Nicki Minaj is wearing. We do not notice that the people in the office drinking Pepsi on their lunch break answer to a black woman and are a group composed of a gay Asian man, two senior staff of varying racial extraction but both also female, and one white male who is either the butt of a joke or makes an ironic statement revealing his own inconsequential nature.

To be sure, much of the current membership of the various groups composing the Occult Elite remains of Western European origin, and the heads of houses tend to be male. But these white males are not worried about undermining their own status, privilege and power; they have real power through vast wealth and the capacity to engineer death on a grand scale, or to order it in specific cases. They are keen in this era to undermine the classical American bulwark of the white male, who in his racist pride once swept aside the native inhabitants of a continent while enslaving those of another, and built a shockingly powerful imperial republic characterized by fanaticism, intolerance, slavery and militarism. This was not an intentional racial design, but rather an accident of history. Had America been settled by Mongol warriors who enslaved Malaysians, then you can be sure that the current social engineering trend would involve showing the Malaysians to be wise and effective while the Mongol male would be demonstrated to be a fool who is no longer of any use in a fast-paced, technologically advanced world.

It doesn't really matter what you fear, so long as you fear.

Race has little to do with the agenda, other than its classical application as a means of dividing and otherwise partitioning the populace. The point in the current trend is to put the first last, and the last first. That is an easy thing to accomplish, of course, since we have already had this precise metaphor embedded in our collective consciousness via Christian apocalypticism. And the reason for this particular movement is that an end game is in progress. Some of the occult masters are attempting to trigger the apocalypse. Others are attempting to put it on as a kind of show. In the chaos, both groups hope to come out on top with absolute power.

Both groups are completely crazy, by the way.

In the occult practice of manipulation via the Secret Language, I do not show you a pyramid when I want you to understand where you fall in the social hierarchy. Instead, I demonstrate that hierarchy in pantomime, and never let your direct consciousness become aware of the pyramidal design I am invoking or otherwise referencing. The pyramid is instead used as a part of the backdrop, woven into the fabric of general socio-cultural symbolism. The symbols on the American currency are a part of this sort of control dynamic, but they are actually rendered ineffective when they are noticed and become a part of regular discourse. Direct awareness of a means of control that depends upon subtlety is in essence, deprogramming. Since this creates a great deal of symbolic detritus when it occurs, occult masters have endeavored over the centuries to develop ways of continuing to use these mechanics even after their impact has waned.

Set certain conditions and then let the human need for self-justification do the rest.

The best way to use the artifacts of an old system, even after their direct application has been neutralized, is to employ them for misdirection. Keeping conspiracy theorists busy by focusing their attention on vestigial nonsense means that they will miss the big picture and ignore completely the current agenda, which is always the best kept set of secrets around.

Servants of the Illuminati? Or artists fully aware of trends in the media... including the online conspiracy websites?

The trends that are currently popular among conspiracists include media symbolism, transhumanism, occultism, religious prophecy, alien contact secrets, military weapons projects and gun control, at least in the U.S. Some emergent themes are of greater importance, but these are also more rare in an assay of internet traffic: Food additives and genetic manipulations of stock, revolutionary activity among certain militia groups, and efforts to tag or otherwise track goods and information, essentially also tagging their users. All of these are worthy bits of data when taken together, suggestive of a system that is carefully and comprehensively controlling individuals. But newer agendas are in play, and these are being missed by those who are too busy looking for Moloch's Owl and pyramids and butterflies. This is just chewing old soup... We already know about the occult elite, and there is no convincing those who will not listen. Why not move on to valuable pursuits, like determining the Occult Elites' weaknesses or their next likely move? Or we could even endeavor to develop effective countermeasures to their real conditioning schemes...

The Great Game is conceived as being played upon a table, and this table is said to have four legs - which is fairly standard practice in the world of table design. But this is a conceptual matter, and the initiated will benefit from knowing how these legs work and how they are conceived.

1.) Theme-setting

This is the practice of conditioning the population to behave in certain generalized ways with respect to specific endeavors or relationships. The most dangerous of these in the modern West is the trend toward the dissolution of the classical family model. Other elements are focused upon urbanizing the population, establishing technology and information as the coin of the realm and lingua franca, and encouraging sexual license. Still others are focused upon dividing parent from child and sowing generalized distrust of other people, even neighbors. These mechanics are in place and are fueled largely by mass-media manipulation. The current general goals are the breakdown of traditional structures and their replacement by systems that encourage varying degrees of mental illness and vulnerability, which are in turn useful for controlling individuals and groups.

How does this work? Simply, to be honest. A media corporation owner tells his board that they need to increase revenue by "connecting with the youth", and that means more viewership to generate increased sponsorship. What will people watch? They will watch sensationalized, violent, sexually lurid stories. How do we know this? Because the occult masters were around for the formation of religious spectacle in the ancient near-East, the rise of theater in Athens, and the building of the Coliseum in Rome. So the media corporation owner - a member of one or another occult order - already knows what his board will instruct the subalterns to do. A focus on high-profile murders, predatory sexual behaviors including pedophilia and capture-torture schemes will generate a sense among "decent" persons from the middle-class social bedrock that no one is to be trusted. This limits community spirit and feeling and insures a culture in which local, small, grassroots movements will be hampered. But go further, and you come to realize that simple directives will generate broad and far-reaching results: The centers of intellect, power and wealth are cities. Those in positions to influence communication and advertising are urban in character and often also origin. They favor the urban lifestyle. This is not a condition that is necessarily enhanced by the building of a traditional family with traditional Western values. Libertine behaviors are rewarded, and a de-emphasis occurs with respect to the old archetypes that speak to us from the more positive teachings.

Why are teachers and religious figures so often in the news for sexual indiscretions? Why are stories of famous people murdering their spouses so interesting? Why are men often denigrated and women exalted, homosexuals paraded as noble or else victimized while heterosexuals are boring and lame? Why are those trumpeting family values of the old Biblical tradition depicted as homophobic, racist and paranoid? Why are so many television shows and movies written to demonstrate behaviors and characters that undermine the validity of the role of father, mother and elder? The occult elite know that artists tend toward iconoclasm, and when order and balance are required, artists are strictly regulated either de jure or de facto. Deregulate the artists and let them run with the ball, and you get Family Guy, The Simpsons, Glee and True Blood.

If you don't like this, it's because you are a closeted homosexual, obviously...

Is the Vicar claiming that a monolith of meaning and message exists? Certainly not. The Vicar is pointing out that the injection of message into certain media is apparent to those who know what to look for. Counter messages are also generated, and these often appear rabid through reactionary psychology; it is in which message is most "mainstream" that we can see what the players of the Great Game are aiming at. What rises is aided by their powers, and what is marginalized is precisely the reactionary activity of those who are under cultural and psychic attack.

2.) Re-Educating

This is the kind of trend apparent when we see Orwellian "correction" of history books, texts on social science and lexicons for group identity. When a new term is introduced for a particular group of people or a particular social behavior, idea or topic, we are in the presence of a reeducation scheme. The idea behind re-naming certain social or racial groups is also counter intuitive. It is always advertised as oriented toward greater sensitivity, but when we utilize a thorough training in the Secret Language, we are instead immediately aware that the goal is to further divide the populace. Remember the old saying, Divide and conquer. This is not just sound tactical advice. Moreover, an effort may be currently underway to encourage people to tolerate and eventually exalt a system of public education in which children live at their schools, which will in turn be under heavy security. If there is a conspiracy behind events like the Newtown school shooting, it is less focused upon guns and gun control (the overt and apparent purpose) and more focused upon the turning of schools into fortresses in preparation for the introduction of a new, anti-family and more collectivist vision.

The re-education of populations takes many forms. Current trends are heavily focused upon undermining faith-based ideas and groups, and replacing traditionalist conventions with more selfish and perverse agendas. But older mechanisms are also fit for illustrative purposes.

Calling black people "African-Americans" actually heightens both the conscious political machinations and the pre-programmed, unconscious awareness that these individuals are somehow not entirely Americans. From the perspective of the principles of the national philosophy, this message is anti-American, since it sets aside - yet again - a group of people who have already been put through history's cruel ringer via 400 years of institutionalized slavery followed by another century or so of second class citizenship. But these were once white elitist agendas, and though they are being transitioned away from for the New World Order, they nevertheless are useful for keeping the people divided.

The Occult Elite know very well that such an oppressed population possesses significant spiritual power, because human wrongs will cause individuals to turn to the divine powers. No less, the divine powers in question have a habit of favoring those who have suffered at the hands of their fellow human beings. It has therefore long been critical for certain occult masters to encourage programs that undermine this particular facet of the varied American black communities. These include the proliferation of criminalization and drug use as well as the presentation of sports and entertainment roles as the primary avenues for success. It was determined in the early 1960s that the spiritual mechanics of these microcultures had to be neutralized - much as the Native American belief systems had to also be theoretically enshrined but simultaneously marginalized in actual operation. Killing a prophet like Martin Luther King was a dangerous gambit, but one apparently felt to be necessary before the man could fully realize his program of forging an effective polity capable of forcing significant and widespread socio-political change. Similar logic was applied to the slaughter and banishment of native peoples to "reservations". This kind of brutality creates a condition of martyrdom, which many would think encourages respect, admiration and even a desire to follow in the footsteps of the victimized in order to seek social justice. But it also makes use of the Martyr Symbol.

3.) Counter-force Symbols

One of the most ancient elements of the occult arts is the application of what are today called "counter-force symbols" by occult practitioners. Occultists familiar with military technology coined the term sometime in the 1980s to reflect the fact that these symbols are used as weapons to neutralize the power of positive spiritual forces. These are emblematic images, terms or even people that serve to overtly create admiration or draw attention whilst simultaneously preventing similar behavior in other inspired individuals through the results of their example. These often include the "watering-down" of the martyr's message or most directly the fact that the martyr died for her or his actions, beliefs and statements. The most readily recognizable and arguably the most brilliant of these - bearing in mind that not everything brilliant can keep from being bad - is the use by the elites of the story of Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus is the absolute and perfect martyr. He was perhaps in history a champion of social justice who understood acutely that the power of any system rests upon belief. Remove the belief of a people in a system, and all legitimacy is neutralized. Once this happens, no amount of wealth or military force will save the state, no matter how the organs of the state seek to apply power. Those who employ power against the populace in the absence of popular investment in the official state lies will find that they are rendered as oppressors. Once that happens, their time in ascendancy is automatically limited. The state will then endure only as long as it takes for the core corruption to rot the essential structures upon which the organs of power depend. In this sense, Jesus killed Rome.

But the Romans of later eras - critically, the members of the mystery cults that truly ruled the Empire - understood what was happening. They moved brilliantly to counter the mechanism, likely knowing that they could not fully or perfectly do so. Constantine Maximus, guided by mystery cultists upon whom he depended for stabilizing influences in economic and cultural terms, embarked upon a wholesale re-imagining of the state cult. Gone was the polytheistic panoply upon which Roman power depended. It was replaced with a Christian cult very different from the teachings of Jesus, but perfect for reinforcing the power of the Emperor. In essence, Christianity is the counter-force symbol created to neutralize the actual message of Jesus.

Essential to this gambit was application of the old technique of the Martyr Symbol. It works like this: The martyr is a superior individual - in the case of Jesus, he is a god - so no one else can ever be like the martyr. His goals are somehow accomplished via his self sacrifice, so much of what his followers may identify as his purpose is mystically completed, effectively undercutting anyone else with the same ideas. There are no grounds for the coming of another such martyr. No less, the martyrdom is obviously a painful death at the hands of the powers that be, so only people particularly motivated will take up the cause. These types can easily be characterized as crazy, and their mission undermined. Setting out to be Jesus in the modern era will land you in psychiatric treatment, rather than at the head of a significant religious movement. The martyr crystallizes the cause and the message, locking it in time and away from the next spiritual or political hero who might otherwise capitalize on her or his predecessor's work.

This is why there has not been another MLK to preach social justice and a call for profound cultural change in America. This is why the next "Jesus" will very likely be a carefully groomed and selected puppet of the Occult Elite, designed to "prove" that the apocalypse is upon us... If they go this route; the true masters are nothing if not flexible.

4.) Flexibility

The fourth and most critical leg of the "Illuminati" gaming table is flexibility. A good program for domination has to be totally responsive to the realities of the situation. It must also be divorced to some extent from those actually responsible for its origination. The Occult Elite do not micromanage. They set conditions and let the game progress. The only essential element of any of their gambits is this: The populace must never unify against the upper classes. The reason is simple, since the great masters of the earth are not great at all. They are not perfect warriors with superhuman intelligence and power - at least not yet. The transhuman trend that is evident in the mainstream is targeted upon getting people ready to accept implants, chips and artificial parts, but this is mostly in the interests of marketing in the next 20-50 years. Some of the folks at the top intend to sell us enhancements, and the ground must be prepared. But the real transhumanism is the development of incredibly expensive genetic manipulation, which will allow the economic and political elite to become physically and intellectually so superior that they will essentially become gods. The current generation of masters will not see this promised land, but their children and their children's children will. This development is the sole purpose of the current phase of policy, and therefore all ancillary and constructive elements must be flexible in order to continue forward. If a rising tide of Luddite sentiment develops, then the propaganda will shift accordingly. Note therefore which groups are characterized by the mainstream messages as "crazy", "paranoid", "backward" or "hateful" and you will know that these very groups are arguing something that has validity and value. The people making the argument may truly be foolish or disturbed, but their message also constitutes a threat to the "Illuminati" agenda.

The real versions won't be interested in saving you.

The Vicar has elsewhere joked (I am not joking) that Athena's Men are engaged in a program to bring forth the Kwisatz Haderach. This reference is a nod to one of our own, but the mechanisms and means by which we are seeking to do this are not artificial. We trust nature and the natural order because we serve the One Creator; our opponents in the Great Game do not. They believe honestly that they can capitalize upon technology to create for themselves a legacy that will reduce the masses to complete slavery. Obedience is the ultimate goal of the Great Game, and no other factor matters.

This Great Game has been around for a long time, and it will persist until the populations of this species decide to put an end to it. Someday rather soon, an awakening unlike any other will occur, and the secret masters will be deprived of any and all mechanisms by which to dominate individuals or groups. This depends first and foremost upon the realization of the absolute human need for liberation; freedom is an internal fire fueled by knowledge, experience, wisdom and spiritual connection to the Creator. This is what Athena's Men believe, in any case, and we continue to be able to make inroads against far wealthier and more materially powerful foes.

The Game ends when the "pieces" refuse to be moved any longer by mere mortal players.
