Much turns upon Obama, the true novelty of our age, and proof positive that McKenna's prophecy regarding the emergence of such things is valid. This is a truly Great Man, but in the original sense: A figure so deeply divisive because of his capacity to rise and rule. Greatness is not always positive, since we can also say that Mao and Stalin and Hitler were as "great" as any Napoleon, Alexander or Genghis Khan. It is in the impact of a ruler that greatness can be seen. The judgment regarding goodness or quality is made by history, and never in the days of action. What Obama is or can be is yet to be seen, and his survival is critically important. Those who hope for his ruin are hoping for chaos, rebellion and destruction - never the hallmarks of a comfortable and prosperous age. Politics does not enter into such a consideration, since the various interpretations of law and custom are little more than passing dreams. The human perception of reality is transient and subject to conditions.

The first indications of this phenomenon's intensification were noticed by the Vicar's own cadre in the late 1990s. The uptick has continued apace, and there are those in the mystic community who will insist that an exponential increase has occurred. Of this, the Vicar is less certain; the math for such things is poorly established, and the data sources are limited at best. We can be quite sure, however, that an increase in reports is the same as an increase in events, synchronicitously speaking.

Today, the Vicar was shown digital images of "demons" - massy shadows and white spots, but clear evidence of discarnate intelligences at work - by a colleague whose relationship to the case is personal, being that her sister is encountering some sort of inhabitation evident by supernatural occurrences. The colleague in question is a hard science thinker, and would last week have told the Vicar that there is no such thing as a soul, much less demons - in fact, last week she said precisely this. Experiencing is believing. But the point is not to be missed: Things are changing. There are shifts in the pattern, and the Vicar would dare say that there is a weakening of the barriers between realities.
We should not forget that the world around us and indeed the whole of reality is responsive to our beliefs. Our own minds and spiritual essences influence the universe in ways we cannot imagine. Much of our science is a defense mechanism against this; we can never underestimate the desire of human beings to avoid the perception of responsibility for things. A sense of guilt is a hard master.
